At mdp McDonald Partners, we take social
responsibility seriously and we contribute back
to the community in several ways.
We offer pro bono legal support to the Human
Rights Law Resource Centre (HRLRC), a
not-for-profit community legal centre which
promotes and protects human rights in Australia
.
We also support various charity causes. Recently
our staff contributed to the Fitted for Work
campaign, which provides job interview clothing
for women who are long-term unemployed or from
disadvantaged backgrounds and aims to help them
obtain and maintain employment.
mdp recently participated in the Ride to Work
Day, and some of our lawyers are members of the
Legal Riders group and ride bicycles to work
regularly. You may see their bicycles in the
office!
We also take a number of measures around the
office to reduce our environmental impact,
including double-sided printing, paper recycling
and electricity and water conservation measures.
mdp McDonald Partners is taking part in the 2010
Victorian Women Lawyers and Women Barristers
Association Law Student Mentoring Program. Our
mentors meet with an allocated mentee to discuss
career progression, securing seasonal and
graduate positions, maintaining a work/life
balance and the general transition from study to
full-time work.
