Dianne McDonald – Office Manager

Dianne McDonald joined mdp coming from a background in industrial relations and business management. Dianne is responsible for HR, practice infrastructure, trust accounts and managing mdp’s compliance with the requirements of professional bodies including the Law Institute of Victoria, the Legal Services Board and the Legal Practice Board. Dianne oversees client invoicing and accounts and is the point of contact for client inquiries regarding accounts. A member of the mdp Board, Dianne reports on the firm’s financial and other affairs and implements board decisions in the office. Dianne enjoys tennis, snow skiing, going to the gym and spending time with her family.

Bonnie O’Neill – Legal Secretary

Bonnie joined mdp in 2009 from a mid-tier firm bringing experience in providing litigation support for commercial, insurance and industrial relations litigation matters. Bonnie is Personal Assistant to Michael McDonald and also provides administrative support to other mdp lawyers.

David Durrant – Administration Assistant and Trade Mark Assistant

David joined mdp in 2005 and provides valuable administrative support to all of mdp McDonald Partners’ lawyers. David provides particular assistance with intellectual property research and enjoys the opportunity mdp’s boutique firm environment offers to make a substantive contribution to the firm’s legal work in addition to his administrative duties. David enjoys mdp’s Friday Night Drinks and in his spare time plays tennis and Nintendo Wii.

Stephanie Davis – Administration Assistant

Stephanie joined mdp early in 2010 and provides reception and administrative assistance to the mdp office. Stephanie completed her VCE in 2009 and is currently completing a traineeship towards a Certificate III in Business Administration (Legal). Stephanie assists with filing, data entry and mail distribution, and greets clients arriving in the office. She enjoys playing the violin, running and spending time with her friends.

Christopher Lum – Law Clerk

Christopher Lum is a fourth year Arts/Law student at the University of Melbourne and joined mdp McDonald Partners as a Law Clerk in 2008. Chris carries out legal research for mdp’s lawyers and writes material for a number of the firm’s marketing documents including the website and client newsletter, as well as providing administrative assistance.

Also a member of the Melbourne University Law Review, Chris proofreads a number of the firm’s documents and enjoys the opportunity to put his law studies to use in a practical context. Chris enjoys studying foreign languages and spent six months studying on exchange in Lyon, France, in 2009.



Lauren Davis – Law Clerk

Lauren joined mdp in 2009 as a law clerk. Lauren is in her penultimate year of an Arts/Law degree and studies at Deakin University in Melbourne. Lauren provides research assistance to mdp lawyers, is involved with marketing and provides support to our commercial and litigation teams. In particular, she is interested in matters handled by our litigation team and enjoyed working on both Discovery and the preparation of Court Documents.
