Victoria is a commercial and intellectual property (IP) lawyer who represents a large number of small to medium enterprises and high net worth clients in a broad range of complex commercial matters, and in the protection and commercialisation of IP.
Victoria’s IP work encompasses the identification, protection and commercialisation of IP. She works closely with clients from the early stages of identifying valuable IP and registering it, through to commercialisation. Victoria helps her clients identify and establish appropriate corporate structures for the protection and inter-entity licensing of IP. Once the IP is protected, Victoria advises clients on capital raising strategies and compliance with the capital raising provisions of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). Victoria also works closely with her clients on the preparation and review of information memorandums for prospective investors.
When a client’s IP is ready to go to market, Victoria assists clients with the development of effective commercialisation strategies. These might include domestic and international licence agreements, franchise agreements, distribution agreements, marketing and business development agreements, and joint ventures.
In the commercial field, Victoria represents clients in business sales and acquisitions, commercial structuring, shareholder and unitholder agreements and disputes, asset protection, business succession, and other general commercial matters. Victoria also has special expertise in estate planning, having worked as an in-house lawyer at the Trust Company Ltd.
Victoria also acts in a number of commercial and residential property transactions, including property acquisitions and sales, property developments, leasing and general property advice.
Victoria’s clients are mostly from the technology, property, professional services, health, media and entertainment and retail sectors.
Victoria is regarded for delivering practical advice tailored to the clients’ specific commercial needs. What Victoria enjoys most about her work is being a trusted mentor to her clients throughout the challenges they face as their business grows.
Prior to joining mdp, Victoria worked at Pointon Partners Lawyers, DLA Phillips Fox, and The Trust Company Limited.
She is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV), the Australian Chamber of International Trade (ACIT), and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
